Winners

Hugh Liddane (Investec) and Chris Marsden (BDO) took the major honours at the Hilton-Baird Group’s 10th annual Golf & Shooting Day on a glorious day in Dorset.

Scoring 37 points round the magnificent course at Remedy Oak, Hugh finished one stroke ahead of both Alan Austin (Metro Bank) and Phil Nicholls (Teneo) to win the golfing trophy for the first time, which was presented to him by CEO of the Hilton-Baird Group, Alex Hilton-Baird, and 2019’s champion Steve Ive (Leumi ABL).

In the shooting event, which was closely fought and extremely challenging, Chris fired his way to the top of the leaderboard with an impressive 32 clays out of 55, while Kelly Semke (Quantuma Advisory) won the ladies’ prize with 19.

In the other golfing competitions, Justin Hedges (Prevail Partners) won the longest drive (sponsored by Loxbear Advisory) after his booming effort on the 10th, while Rob Harris (Loxbear Advisory) finished nearest the pin on the 179-yard 13th hole… only to miss his birdie putt (sorry, Rob!).

Graham Plater (Investec), Mark Finn (eCapital), Sandy Kinninmonth (FRP Advisory) and Jamie Weeden (Hilton-Baird Group) won the team prize with 87 points, one shot ahead of Mike Jackson (Close Brothers Invoice Finance), James Loveday (Leumi ABL), Graham Bird (Hilton-Baird Audit & Survey) and individual runner-up, Alan Austin.

It was a superb day on the south coast, with guests travelling from across the country in order to attend. So we’d like to thank each of you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to join us and making it such a special day in this, the Hilton-Baird Group’s 25th year of business. It was great to see you all!

Congratulations to all the winners. See you next year!
