David Parsons (Secure Trust Bank) made history by becoming the first player to retain the Hilton-Baird Group Golf Day trophy since the competition began 12 years ago.

Despite a sodden Remedy Oak course – which played far longer than its already challenging 7,000 yards – David racked up a mammoth 47 points to win the prize by a record margin.

His performance inspired his team mates, Graham Barber (PNC Business Credit) and John Wilde, to success in the team competition.

The rest of the 32-strong field found scoring more difficult, but Scott Curley (Arbuthnot) and Douglas Cecil (BDO LLP) discovered their form at the right time, winning the longest drive and closest to pin competitions respectively.

In a historic week for the Hilton-Baird Group, which was acquired by FRP Advisory Trading, it was a wonderful way to celebrate with so many of our longstanding clients and partners at such a fantastic venue.
